Psalm 18:24

God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to His eyes... Psalm 18:24, The Message

This has been my 'life verse' this past month...and one I am planning to cling to for a while. I've often talked about the journey I'm on here on this blog... A journey of hope, healing, and truth. Lately, God has been challenging me to face up to the truth of my past; and I've been pretty stubborn. But the words of this Psalm keep repeating over and over in my head. I need to open the book of my heart...trust Him...and allow Him to rewrite what's been broken and redeem what's been lost. I have to be honest and say I'm still praying for the 'willingness to be willing'; but I know that God is faithful, and patient. I find the lyrics to the Britt Nicole song "Feel the Light" say it best...

Today, today you wanna run away now
You break try to keep it together
Love, love is all you need
You're a queen, but you've never known it
'Cause life has come and left you blinded
Stole your smile and left you cryin'
It's not your fault, but shame is all you got now

*Your heart is tangled up in silence
It's time to let go and feel the light
I know it's easier to hide
But you gotta let go
And feel the light
Let go and feel the light*

Be brave, brave the waters all around you
I'll stay, I'll keep you from sinking down
Love, love is on your side
You're stronger than you'll ever know
So many years of quiet
Building up like a fire inside
You're feelin' like you gotta let it out now
Just let it out*

How did you get here
You're locked inside of all this fear
Inside you're crying out
Your mind's at war
Get out, get out and live for more
There's so much more
Live for more*
